Hebrews 13:17 (ESV) – “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account.
As pastors and leaders of local churches, we will have to stand before God to give an account for how we led His church and how we built up Christ’s bride. So, on that day, what kind of church do you want to give an account for?
Now, part of being faithful will mean that our churches display a lot of the above characteristics, but faithfulness begins with the overarching commitment and aim to ask, “How can we as God’s people be faithful to God, to listen to God and do everything that God commands?”
In the Great Commission, God’s church is called to make disciples and to “teach them to OBEY everything God commands.” Therefore, in the parable of the talents, regardless of gifting or talents, the joy-filled words we want to hear from the Master are, “Well done, good and FAITHFUL servant.”
With that said, the desire and goal of this Healthy Church group is to write articles, provide resources, offer coaching, and eventually host events that are rooted in God’s Word because God’s Word has a lot to say about how He wants His churches to be built.
While you may or may not agree with everything that is written, offered, or said, we welcome disagreement, discussion, and dialogue. But, let us not disagree in a way focused primarily on methodology. Let us commit to first search God’s Word to see what God has to say about His church, and then commit to build Biblically Faithful Churches for God’s glory.
